Why should I distribute holiday gifts?

Personalized and imprinted holiday gifts are an ideal way to promote your business during the holiday season. Everyone appreciates thoughtfulness and business gifts are no different. Updated Meta Team Engagement Swag Guidelines as of March 24, 2022

Hello Meta (FB) Folks! As you may know, there have been recent changes to the Meta Team Engagement program that may impact how we can best fulfill your swag needs. To help you with making the best choice for your team swag we’re providing the corporate guidance details & links to more details!

Note: info below is specifically for Team Engagement Swag and not related to 1) Virtual Event Swag, or 2) IRL Event Swag, 3) FBRGs or 4) other one off projects.

Meta Team Engagement 2022 Budget Update:

  • 2022 $150pp Max Swag Budget entire calendar year – this is different from the 2021 year where swag budgets varied by quarter.
    • Team Engagement budget is owned by the people/employee’s manager and it requires internal coordination to ensure that it is being used according to small AND large team needs
    • VPs and Directors might have access to additional budget funds and can use these funds at their discretion
    • Purchases are no longer tied to a specific quarter! Billing is now easier for either credit card purchases or a Purchase Order (PO)
  • Shipping does NOT cut into the $150/per person budget – shipping costs are covered separately. We use the following best practices related to shipping:
    • 2 Most Common Options: 1) Individual Direct-To-Their-Door Shipping or 2) Bulk Shipping to some office locations
    • We can help you & your team to select the most cost-effective option
    • Whenever possible, we invoice for the entire amount (product + fulfillment + shipping) to make it easier for you
    • Orders over >$10K will need a Purchase Order. We’re here to help make it go smoothly.
    • Order less than <$10k can be paid via a Purchasing Card.
      • Swag items only invoice, up to the max budget you set
      • Separate invoice for shipping & fulfillment. Allows you to more easily submit to your expense reporting system via the “swag shipping” drop down (see links for all details below).

  1. Concierge Service Request – fill out our Concierge Request Form and curated ideas will be sent to you in 2-3 business days
  2. Buy Gift Packages or Swag Item(s) – from our Meta teams tailored online store (items added weekly): Meta Store
  3. FASTEST: Buy Now, Choose Later“Swag Certificates” in $50//$75/$100/$150 enable managers to delegate & stay within desired budget. A credit to be applied to your soon-to-be placed order. Allows additional time for the team to decide on the swag to order.

Next Steps Overview:

  • We’ll send you options to choose from with pricing info & you select your favorite item
  • Shipping Addresses Form – we create a specific, customized google form for your team to securely provide their mailing address & selection(s) as applicable: style, selection, color & size, etc
    • You will review & approve the look & layout and then send link to your team
    • Production usually starts AFTER all recipient info is received
  • Credit Card Payment – we’ll send a link to pay the swag only invoice & shipping will be invoiced later
  • Production Timing – varies by order & usually starts after ALL recipient info is received
  • Fulfillment & shipping begins when production is completed
  • Last Step – invoice sent for fulfillment & shipping related costs & link for cc payment
    • Note: These are shipping costs covered by the Engagement budget; above & beyond the $150 pp swag amount

We highly recommend you grab a plate of their parmesan truffle fries while you’re there (with an extra order of their truffle aioli – thank us later!), and, if you’re visiting after working hours, loosen your tie with one of their delicious boozy shakes.

Gourdough’s has been dealing donuts to the Austin population since 2012, and their menu has only gotten more innovative and mouth-watering since. From classic donuts piled high with powdered sugar and honey to cream cheese and cinnamon creations that will have your tastebuds spinning, Gourdough’s is sure to fill your dreams with dancing donuts. Don’t go thinking this is just for you sweet-toothed folks, either! Gourdough’s savory options – like their “Bacon Me Crazy” bacon and provolone donut sandwich – will have you seeing donuts in a new light.

#3: Feeling Batty?

No trip to Austin is complete without viewing the surreal display that is the nightly emergence of bats from under Congress Avenue Bridge. Austin houses the largest urban bat colony in North America, a population numbering 1.5 million little winged weirdos. During the summer, you can view this unique phenomenon at dusk every day – though we recommend arriving early to find a good spot. You can choose to watch the bats from on the bridge, or walk down to the banks below to hear the slow build-up of chatter and experience the spiral of over a million little bodies just above your head. Whatever vantage point you choose, we ensure it is a sight you won’t soon forget.

#4: Experience 6th Street Revelry From On High

Established in 1978, Maggie Mae’s is one of Austin’s most iconic bars. With over 11,000 square feet of event space, five bars, two stages, multiple floors, a max capacity of 792 guests and a location that is steps from the convention center and numerous prominent downtown hotels, Maggie Mae’s is a must-visit. Their rooftop bar offers a view of the entire drag in style and their All Day Happy Hours on weekdays will ensure you never leave thirsty.

#5: Sing It Loud at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar

Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar is an excellent venue to visit with coworkers and friends alike! Half concert, half bar, if you are looking for an authentic Austin live-music experience, you’re sure to get one at Pete’s. If you’re feeling up to it, throw a song request onto one of the pianos in the front of the room and prepare yourself to sing along with a crowd of voices around you. It has received accolades from Tripadvisor as one of its top-rated locations for Nightlife in Austin.

Maudie’s Tex-Mex

One of the must dos in Texas is chowing down on our famous Tex-Mex cuisine, and the best place in Austin to do that is Maudie’s Tex-Mex. Not only do they have an endless menu of good eats, but they are committed to giving back to their community with their numerous community partners. Do good for your stomach and do good for Austin by stopping for a bite at Maudie’s!


Garey Park

I highly recommend going for a hike in Garey Park. This former 525 acre ranch is located along the South San Gabriel River, so whether you are into hillside views, fishing, or exploring trails on horseback, this park has all you need. It’s a bit of a drive from downtown Austin, but totally worth it!


Deep Eddy Pool

If the crowds at Barton Springs Pool aren’t your style, but you want to take a plunge in a refreshing spring-fed swimming pool, then Deep Eddy is the place for you. The pool overlooks Ladybird Lake and is surrounded by trees, hiking trails, and an adorable community garden. Getting hungry after your swim? Check out Pool Burger next door for a great burger and a frozen drink!



Hungry for some BBQ without the long lines? My favorite spot is LORO, where Franklin Barbecue and Uchi come together to create an Asian Smokehouse. Stop by during Happy Hour weekdays from 2pm-5pm!


Lamppost Coffee

Looking for a carefully crafted cup of coffee and excellent service? Lamppost Coffee is my favorite local coffee chain in all of Austin – and trust me, I’ve tried a few! They have several locations and their signature Lamba Latte is to die for.

What’s the deal with Direct-to-Door shipping?

When ordering promotional products, many fulfillment services default to bulk shipping, where all of your products are packaged together and delivered to a single address of your choice. While this may work for some, we realize the distribution of products to employees, board members, and customers can be an intense amount of labor – let us take that off your plate!

With Direct-to-Door shipping, we package your products for individual fulfillment and deliver each set directly to your intended recipients. The best part? There is no need for you to use your time collecting addresses, shirt sizes, and dream mug color. We take care of all of that for you!

So, how do we do this?

First, you’ll fill out a Concierge Request Form describing your needs (event, price point, team size, etc) and be sure to select the Direct-to-Door shipping option. Then we work our OutBranding magic and create a custom presentation of product options we feel will suit you perfectly. You choose your favorites, and we get to work!

We create a specific, customized Google form for your team to securely provide their mailing address and customization selection(s) as applicable – no more trying to puzzle out the ratio of t-shirt sizes you need for 150 staff members.

You will approve the look and layout of the form and then send the link to your team. Once we’ve received the information from all of the recipients, production will begin. Production timing varies by order and requires ALL recipient information to be received before it can begin, so it’s important that your team knows completing the form is a top priority.

Once production is complete, fulfillment and shipping begins. We package your products with style and safely deliver them directly to each of the recipients.

Then – our favorite part! – your recipients unbox their new swag and enjoy!
